The FIT Business Process Model© |
What It Is
The FIT Business Process Model( is a model of the business processes of a 'typical' process industry client written in a modeling language. FIT has the FIT Business Process Model© in both the ARIS modeling language (from IDS) and Streams (from Rational Rose). When printed out, the model shows, in flow chart manner (examples attached), all the business processes, the individuals doing the processes and tools that the individuals use. The form of communication between individuals is also depicted. The ARIS-based model is the larger of the models, currently. When printed, the model is over 39 feet long.
What It Looks Like
The following is a 'snapshot' of a single business process. This process would be connected to thousands of others in the model to make up a business process flow.

How It Works
The following is a flowchart of how the FIT Business Process Model© would be used:

How It Is Used:
The FIT Business Process Model© is used as a basis for analysis of a process industry client's business processes to determine what can be done to make that client more competitive and productive in today's tight market. It can be moved to a 'To Be' model or simply used to find Opportunities for change. It prints out for a very visual means of working through what changes are necessary and how they impact the organization. As a means of determining how to configure software to facilitate these changes, the model is a very sound basis for the client, for FIT and for the software vendor.
